When a reason for celebration comes, can Vinovians be kept away from rejoicing? And so the occasion, rather the excuse for celebration came wrapped up the in the form of afresh, anew and promising New Year, 2012.  The Party Organizers – Western Yodhas concentrated all their efforts in throwing the most memorable New Year bash for Vinove family and they were successful in meeting everyone’s anxiety.

New Year celebration was out rightly held in “Game Of Legends, Sports Bar” in Rajouri Garden, a place which offered different indoor games like Dart, Pool, Chess, Carom, Golf etc. along with beats of DJ and fun of Bar.  The party gained pace in the mid noon of 21st January, 12. Hookah, Beverages, Snacks & up-beat music was warming up ice breaker of the crowd.

To a watcher’s delight, everyone was engaged in their own pattern of enjoyment.  People played different games and danced till the very last ounce of energy left in their system. Another highlighted part of the celebration was mouth watering food along with alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. The glittering clicks of camera, the intoxicating aroma of alcohol and Hookah, the laid back pool players and the “Energetic – Beyond – Words” bunch of dancers; have shown that Vinovians work hard and even party harder !!! We boogied, we ate, we got high (ah, well if not all, then the most of us did).  No one was willing to stray away from the fun and frolics to go back home.

It was the day of joy & celebration of achievements.  Above all, each Vinovian cherished the bond of belongingness developed in all these years of working together.  New year celebration was actually a winsome treat for all Vinovian with one goal of being a Family with undying perseverance to achieve unrivaled standards of performance excellence.

After the “Vinove sports league 2011” hosted by Vinove on 12 February 2011, Western Yodhas took over the charge for holding fun events in Vinove for the next couple of months. So, the first event was Holi celebration. It was a small get together held in company premises but after a couple of weeks Western Yodhas announced yet another fun event i.e. Picnic. But how come picnic in summer? Well, that was the perfect time to beat the heat this summer, so the picnic spot decided was Fun ‘N’ Food village ( Amusement+Water Park).
As temperature was rising, it was time for some splash and fun. The day, the announcement for Picnic was made, everybody was filled with excitement, making their own plans and many more. It was held on 16th April 2011 as the most awaited picnic @ Fun ‘N’ Food Village.

Finally the day came and the Vinovians made way for the venue. All Vinovians were ready to board the bus that were to take them to the picnic spot i.e. Fun ‘N’ Food Village. Well, all these arrangements had already been made by Sandy and Manjeet. Sandy had reached the venue in order to check the arrangements. As soon as we entered the venue, all the Vinovians headed straightaway to the cafeteria for the breakfast. Once, we were through with the breakfast, without any delay all moved to the water park where they enjoyed themselves to the hilt. All were excited and very hastily they changed and moved to the water park. The water slides, lazy river were crowded with the Vinovians and with the general public as well. After that we all enjoyed together in the wave pool and swayed to the music and had a blast. This is not all. Meeta and Komal from HR department won the rain dance competition.

The merriment had to take a break, for what is a picnic without the eats. A sumptuous lunch was followed by enjoying the variety of rides in the amusement park. We also had loads of chit chat at the lunch table. Few people didn’t like the rides so there were other things to keep them busy. They played cards, flying disk and many more. After taking rides, majority of us took part in game i.e. the sack race. The winner of sack race was Avinash Kumar Mishra.

Like all good things have to come to an end, so it was time to click loads of photographs and make the day memorable. At the end of the day, the wide smiles of all the Vinovians portrayed their feelings, that they had truly enjoyed a fun filled Saturday. These in- house activities, fun events like party, picnic have become an indispensable part of Vinove family. A big thanks to Western Yodhas, Parvesh Sir, Bhavna and all the Vinovians for such a rolling and fun filled Picnic.

After a remarkable celebration of annual day, Diwali and Christmas, everybody was excited to have a great fun on the New Year celebration. But there was a question in everybody’s mind- what is going to happen this time? We were sure that party management team ‘Southern Surmas’ have planned for the New Year celebration and this time also they are going to do something different. The first cracker of excitement was that this time, Vinove family is going to rock the floor in Disc. The Southern Surmas team had scheduled the New Year party on 15th January 2011 at Lava Restro Disc.

Initially, this party was going to be celebrated on New Year Eve but as there cannot be any compromises with professional work, so, it was postponed. But being postponed, it still was one of the most interesting and memorable party at Vinove.

On the event day the Vinove family met together at Lava Restro Disc to rock the floor. As everybody entered the disc, there was truly an awesome feeling as we all were waiting for this moment for the last couple of weeks. Some disco fans, the moment they entered the disc, started rock and roll with the beats of DJ.

Ladies were waiting for their favorite songs to be played by DJ while most of the gentlemen were waiting for the call ‘Bar is open’. Both the parties didn’t have to wait for long as within a few moments, the ladies were on the floor with their favorite song and most of the gents were flocking their favorite place.

For more than two hours, Vinovians showed their dancing skills and rocked the floor. But the Party management team ‘Southern Surmas’ had some other planned activities to make the event more enchanting. So, the DJ had to stop there for a moment. One of the activities of the day was a dance competition among the new joiners of Vinove, but it was not a usual dance competition as the competitors had to dance together and with the beats only. At the moment beats stopped, they had to stop. Similarly, there were other interesting activities which truly added flavor in the dance party.

Once the party management team ‘Southern Surmas’ was done with all their activities, everybody came on the floor and again rocked it. This time there was a continuous dance on the floor for more than 3 hours. When everybody got tired, we decided to have lunch.

So, this was how Vinove family celebrated and enjoyed the New Year party. Southern Surmas, with the help of other staff, had really made this New Year celebration one of the most interesting and memorable day of Vinovians’ life.

The festival of Diwali is one of the auspicious day when people enjoy to the fullest with great joy and pump and exchange different gifts to convey festive wishes, love, care and regards to their near and dear ones. Diwali brings lots of light and happiness with it and each one of us was enthralled for the celebration for this festival.

This time Eastern Tigers took the charge for holding Diwali celebration in Vinove. Not only the eastern tigers but other staff members were putting their best efforts to make this occasion memorable.  Different kind of activities were performed on that day. In the morning of 4th November, everyone was busy in their work and it looked like a normal day but as soon as the clock hit 2 O’ clock, the arrangement s for Diwali celebrations got started.

In the afternoon, House Eastern Tigers made an announcement to decorate the respective departments and the best decorated department will be awarded some special Diwali Gift. To make this occasion memorable eastern tigers decided to organize a small party and some fun events. On this occasion everybody decorated their respective cubicles, therefore, the office premises were also decorated by the staff members and some of the most creative people took initiative to make the Rangoli with different colors.

As everything was scheduled earlier, we used our Office Terrace for whole event. In the evening, everybody was asked to gather on office’s terrace and the event started at sharp 5 pm. To make this party more exciting and enjoyable for all, games like Hoopla, Strike the pyramid and balloon shooting were arranged. One more event named as Luck Check-o-Meter was also there and there was a special gift for the winners of these games. Most of the members of Vinove family participated, played games and enjoyed a lot. But Diwali without sweets? How can this be possible? so for this, food stalls were also available.

Moreover, there were many others who prepared a skit whose motive was to deliver a social message: “SAY NO TO CRACKERS” and the effort made by them were really appreciable. After skit, Tambola was played by many and some of them won also. But that was not all, there was still something left for more fun and that was Dhole Wales.

This is how Diwali was celebrated in Vinove but the most important thing was the CSR activity. As Vinove family is involved in CSR program and donates for noble causes round the year.  The company is actively working in the areas like education, health, skill development, fulfilling needs of poor, empowerment of weaker sections of the society, etc. To serve this purpose, this time, some of them visited Kriti (a school for mentally and physically challenged kids) and planned to donate things like special equipments and books meant for their special needs. After knowing their needs we bought things (like Educational Toys and Games, T Pulley Set, Elbow Crutches 1 Pair, Hard Collar) and donated to them. Everyone made contribution for this noble cause so as to make the most auspicious festive occasion really special for them.

The day, the announcement for 6th annual day celebration was made, everybody was excited with a sole question in their minds; What new thing will they see this time. This time the hosts were Uttat Ke Puttar and they decided 25 sept as the date for the carnival in Pacific Asia at Netaji Subhash Place. The house-in-charge Uttar Ke Puttar was busy in making their best efforts to make this occasion memorable for everyone. There were many events decided by them among which the ragging-cum-group dance of “fuchhas” (freshers) which comes under “AA-MIL-GA-MATE” was kept as a surprise. Everyone was informed about the timings and dress code for both males and females and the most interesting dress code was set for our fuchhas; A black Pant with white shirt, which was same as the dress of the waiters of that venue where the event was going to take place and the only thing which gave some relief to our freshers was a red tie to make them look little different from the waiters.

Finally the day came for the celebration and Manish and Sanjeev Singh were already there to look for the arrangements made by the management of the venue. The celebration began with our best jolly hosts; Kiran, Prashant and Manish. First turn was of our FUCHHAS to give everyone an astonishing group dance which was based on some of the most morose bollywood track which was fun to watch. The event moved on with some of the charming tracks by our emerging singers of the nation (ofcourse working in Vinove) including; Sanjeev Singh, Bhawna Malik and Robbins, and no doubt they added flavor to the party. Another hilarious part was a skit performed by Amit, Robbins, Romesha, Shaily, Rajeev, Abid and Shantanu. Prashant did the mimicry of some of the evergreen bollywood actors. The “Sher-e-Azam” of Vinove; Vivek Awasthi presented some of the best situational “Shers” and made the event feel proud of its occurrence.

The events were put a full stop by sprinkling the Champaign and food and drinks were opened simultaneously. But no one was bothered about the food and they hit the DJ floor too hard which will be remembered by everyone who was present there. As everybody enjoyed the scrumptious food and drink, they also shared their personal moments along with each other’s family members. But as you know, “At every party there are two kinds of people — those who want to go home and those who don’t. The trouble is, they are usually married to each other.” Some left early while others enjoyed until the end.

After all, it was the time to celebrate 6 years of success and nobody missed any chance to enjoy this memorable moment at their fullest. We Vinovians, as a family, are with each other in every happy as well as difficult time and this is what makes us believe in achieving whatever we think of.

After the rocking party hosted by Western Yodhas @Toast, Uttar Ke Puttar(UKP) took over the charge for holding fun events in Vinove for the next couple of weeks. So, the first event was held to celebrate our India’s 64th Independence Day. Vinove celebrated Independence Day on 13th August 2010.

Uttar ke Puttar started preparing for this event 3-4 days earlier. They underwent long (long!) brainstorming sessions to decide upon the kind of activities to be performed on that day. The team captain also shooted a mail to everybody to come in a dress code which should have Saffron, white or green in it, or a combination of these three colors. This mail made every body stretch their head to think whether they have such a dress in their wardrobe or not.

That was not all by UKPs. When we entered into the office in the morning, the office was already decorated with balloons and small flags. Everybody came well dressed as expected by our event organizers. Apart from UKPs, even other house members had done few preparations from their end as well.  The Eastern Tigers team members were wearing ‘Tiranga’ wrist band and all Southern Surmas pinned up ‘Tiranga‘ batch on their dresses. Though that cannot be called huge efforts but sometimes, even small things matter a lot.

Finally, the time arrived for which every Vinovian was waiting for. Everybody was asked to gather on the second floor and the event started at 4:30 pm. Our very own, Kiran Bisht, was the representative host from UKP. She requested everyone to stand along with their respective house members. Then, she explained about the different rounds of fun activities. All the teams were required to select one representative who would participate on behalf of his team members. In the first round, all the representatives were made to stand in the front  and asked to speak something on the eve of Independence Day. Out of all representatives, Kapil Singh(Vinove’s most humorous character) stole the limelight. He spoke very well and nicely highlighted the hidden meaning of freedom in the modern world.

The second round was quiz round. UKPs had prepared one video clip for each house related to India’s history and cultural background. Each team was asked three questions on the basis of the video clips shown. It was just an absolute fun for each team answering all that questions when the opposition parties(other team members) were prompting wrong answers. Some were finding the answers on Google on the spot (Cheaters! You need to read newspaper daily and improve on general knowledge). Never mind! After all it was just for fun sake.

At the end, came the turn of the event organizer i.e. Uttar ke Puttars. To everybody’s amaze, they answered all the three questions correctly and declared to be the winner of  game. Impatient and full of jealousy, the rest of the Vinovians, started yelling by calling them ‘Cheaters’. Everybody was having a good time and some were busy passing comments on other house members. The situation was made under control somehow.. Parvesh Aggarwal, Director of the Company, member of Western Yodhas(Oops..The Loser team!), concluded the talk by saying, “We are satisfied with what we got..atleast we have not cheated in the game”. But still the commenting, defending and the laughter sessions were full on. With all masti, excitement and Dhamaal, the event came to an end.

Film abhi baki hai dost…No event is complete without some refreshments. And to keep this tradition alive, there was a small snacks party which everybody enjoyed a lot. At last everybody returned to their desks to finish up the pending work, with memories of the celebrations in their hearts.

These kinds of fun events actually act as great stress busters, mind refreshers and break the monotonous chain of work, work and work. I think all corporate should make these fun activities a part of their culture. This will automatically work in favor of organization’s stress management endeavors.

The first two weeks after the announcement for the Fun Event were the most difficult days. Undoubtedly, they were filled with excitement to dance and drink hard. Western Yodhas had announced a Dance Party on the July 24th , 2010 as a part of the Fun Event @ Toast in Rajouri. The date had already been postponed for a week and that added fuel to the fire.

Nevertheless, the day came and the Vinovians made way for the venue. Manjeet and Sandy, had already reached the venue in order to check the arrangements. We, all were warmly welcomed by Toast’s management. The moment we entered, for a minute, we entered into a state of trance because of the elegance of the ambiance. The dim lightning that was prominent enough to add on to the look and feel of a lounge. After a couple of moments, we realised that we are not here to rest when the silence was broken by the rocking welcome of our hosts, the Western Yodhas.

“Aa-mil-ga-mate,” the culture at Vinove to celebrate joining of the new members in the Vinove Family called for the double celebration. This time, our creative ‘keedas’ made the “fuchas” mimic Shakti Kapoor, Hema Malini, Amol Palekar, Gabbar, and every character they could think of. To the best of our expectations, everyone performed really well and even to the worst of their extent. Then, the call opened the bar and the floor as well, and everyone just made a bash towards it.”

There was everything… for all our alcoholic and non-alcoholic jawans! Some rushed to the bar to get their drinks, while some were rocking to the tune. Meanwhile, there was an announcement for the paper dance where our five “hanson ke jode” in their full zeest tried their level best, but Sweety and Venkatesh was the last couple to be on the floor. Each and every couple was mesmerised by the music and the proximity they shared. Then, came the real-time teaser where Western Yodhas have had decided the most weirdest titles one can ever think of.

“Vinove Dada” for our Bossy Boss (I am sure, this would be an another title from my side ; Talli Hua/i to Vivek Avasthi and our dearest HR- Bhavna (Zoinx…). There is still more…. One Pack Man to Sanjiv Singh (and I guess… that would surely have been a one-man nomination) and X-ray man to our little Chandresh.”

And, there again, loads of dancing, drinking and enjoying, and why not… when you are with your colleagues with the spirit of knowing each other well. And, I am pretty sure, we went so high in the wake of dancing and masti, that we did not want the music to stop. However, we had to stop and move ahead for lunch, and had a loads of chit-chat at the lunch table as well. We clicked loads of photographs and made the day memorable.

And, this is the most happening thing about this office that we find or more appropriately, create events for one or the other get together. These in-house activities, Fun Event have become an indispensable part of the Vinove family and a big thanks to Western Yodhas, Parvesh Sir, Bhavna, and all the Vinovians for such a rolling and swaying party.

Believing on the fact that economic performance and social responsibility can go hand in hand, we have recently made ourselves involved in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes, where we aim to make a genuine consideration of our impact on the communities, and to put our contribution for the betterment of the environment in which we live.

At Vinove Software and Services, we view CSR as a true effort to influence society in a manner that earns the trust and respect for the people living in it. Our members have made notable efforts with the help of whom a significant contribution towards society became possible for us and we are able to fulfill this responsibility aggressively. Our company is actively working in the areas like education, health, skill development, fulfilling needs of poor, empowerment of weaker sections of the society, etc.

Understanding the importance of definition of Kyosie, which is “All people, regardless of race, religion or culture, harmoniously living and working together into the future”, we want to make CSR an important organ of our organization in our own way.

As a part of our first significant CSR activity, we distributed blankets and sweaters to nearly 50 people living near metro construction site. The condition in which these people were living was worse and they were not even provided with proper shelter to cover their head. The next activity we organized was to serve meal and other food items to approx 100 people living in a slum for whom affording two meals a day is difficult. We do not only focus to help these people and fulfill their basic requirements but our responsibility is to work something appreciable, something in favour of our environment.

In our coming blog, we would discuss more on our plans and what contributions we would be making towards social responsibilities as a part of our CSR activities.

New Year celebration does not always mean to celebrate it by partying in a discotheque and get drunk but there are better ways to celebrate this much-awaited occasion. To prove this, we planned to celebrate new year eve in a new way and decided to spend a complete day by being together, playing sports, enjoying water rides, having good food and a lot more.

Yes, the day finally arrived- it was 1st January, 2010. We reached office in the morning with a smile on our face and… excitement in our heart. We were getting ready to board the bus in excitement. Our bus started heading towards the destined spot- Wet n Wild Resort, situated in Gurgaon, Haryana.

Like the name suggests, the place was ultimate wet… as there were several waterslides to enjoy.

As soon as we boarded the bus, we started screaming in joy, wondering how to keep a hold on our throbbing heart beats. People scattered everywhere in the bus, in an attempt to occupy the seats next to their good friends.

Bus ride has always been a part of fun tale, then how could we missed the chance to sing and play Antakshari. Groups divided and we excited! Most enthusiastic among all were Prashant, Bhavna, Neha, Shweta and Manjeet who were enjoying the moment by not following the rules of the game. That was not all, then started the session of taking pictures.

Soon we reached the destination. We shouted in thrill and rushed towards restaurant where we were welcomed with tea, coffee, sandwiches and soft drinks. After having ourselves filled with energy, we geared up to enjoy sports and play other games like bowling alley, pool, carom, badminton, etc. Shweta and Neha soon rushed towards badminton ground to occupy the space, joined with Umar Qazi. A bunch of boys headed towards another ground to enjoy cricket and basket ball.

Not only this, there were some others like Manish Chauhan, Manish Rawat,  Naveen, Saurav, Sameer, Rahul and Prashant who went to pool area and played pool and bowling there. We had never seen someone attempted to score points by rolling balls along the surface so well other than Durgesh, Rajeev, Neha and Manjeet. On the other side, Chandresh and Qazi were silently playing carom.

We reiterated our childhood memories by enjoying rides in children park, where Ruhi and Bhavna caught riding see-saw and Saurav was found playing on a swing. The happening couples of the day, Mohit with his wife, Ashish and his wife and Sanjeev with his wife, were enjoying weather, sitting under a shady terrace with a fishpond view, gossiping and looking others enjoying here and there. To our surprise, Sanjeev with his little daughter did enjoy water ride too in such chilling weather.

We were now tired of playing games. Soon our hungry stomach stopped hearing anything else but the sound of food. So, without wasting time further we headed towards the restaurant to enjoy lip smacking dishes served with delicious cuisines like jalebies, ice creams and dahi bhalle at lunch, oh.. how can we forget them? After our tongue was savored with great tastes, we thought to relax. But the music coming out of discotheque didn’t let our feet to stop tapping on the beats. On this note, we can not forget our two great dancers, Umar and Rakesh who did not feel exhausted and danced to the last tune.

As we were enjoying the moment, a soft romantic song was intentionally played by the DJ to invite couples on the floor. It was great to watch them holding hands in hands and dancing on the slow music.

We did not want the DJ to stop music and come out of disco but we had to keep a check on time also As soon as we reached the hall to had our snacks with evening tea, we were surprised to know that one more activity was waiting ahead for us to take part in, yes that was Tambola. We were overwhelmed once again!

Tambola is always great since it gives us chance to play, enjoy and win few bucks. Unfortunately, each one of us could not be lucky, right! Vishnu was the luckiest among all, who won the game as Full House winner.

We wanted to capture all the fun we had that day by clicking a group picture of ours. And we did that. Now came the time when we had to board the bus to go back. We can never forget the day, it was joyous, momentous, and much more.

Thanks to our HR team and Fun team for making the day memorable!

It was the last day of ‘2008’ and we all were eagerly waiting for ‘2009’ as we were anxious – what New Year is bringing for us, GOD knows!

But the Vinove team, so optimistic as usual was totally geared up for the New Year. There was one more reason to celebrate- we all were going to ‘Fun town’- A beautiful resort near Bahadurgarh on Jan 1st, 2009.

And the great day arrived. We all gathered up in the office premises wishing each other, Happy New Year! All were so excited for the lovely excursion- Thanks to HR team for all arrangements done.

Our bus arrived and everybody was screaming with joy. Some new Vinovians – Amit, Vishal, Saurabh and Manish Rawat were on the top of the bus jubilating and giving different poses for the photos which were taken by our very own creative cameraman Naveen.

The bus started heading towards our destination. There was excitement in the air. This was going to be great. Everybody was enthusiastic to reach Fun Town. Swati, Tripti, Manju and Kanika started singing songs and soon we were playing ‘Antakshri’- A game in which a team has to sing a song at the alphabet on which the other team has finished. It was going great and soon we reached ‘Fun Town’.

As we came out of the bus, we uttered ‘WOW’ in joy! Situated in the suburbs of Haryana, the platinum resort was known for its aesthetic appeal.
Without wasting time we entered the resort and our session started with a brunch. The food was great and after that we all started exploring the resort. The DJ was playing awesome music, there were breath taking swings and a beautiful water park.

First of all everyone tried the great “Columbus”. As it started swinging fast to-and-fro in the air, everybody started screaming and were feeling the goose bumps. Out of all, Vijyata was having a tough time.

Mohit, Gulshan, Pankaj and Charanjeet were busy with table tennis. Khem Raj, Manish Chauhan, Naveen, Chandresh, were playing pool. Everybody was so into their games but soon all this came to an end when Neha and gang intervened in the game.

Abhijeet, Akash, Amit and Piyush accompanied by other members went to the water park. Without taking much time all were in their trunks enjoying mighty water rides. The boys were elated and living the moment to the fullest.

Soon the music became loud and everybody started heading towards the dance floor but to our surprise some of our members Vishal, Kanika, Vibha, Naveen, Umar, Tripti were already shaking their legs on the dance floor. Soon the DJ podium was filled by the Vinovians and everyone was dancing so elegantly.

Other members were playing football and cricket but they too joined the DJ.
After dancing to the music for hours, we all went to take the lunch and again the food was delicious!

We all finished our lunch and were again ready for the next session and this time we were playing “Tug of war”. One team was headed by Mohit Malik and the other was headed by Ashish Thapiyal. Both the teams were shouting and their entire strength was in pulling the rope towards their respective side. But the game came to an end and the winner was Mohit’s team.
Soon all were back to the dance floor and this time it was Khem Raj dancing to the music. We all gave our best dance steps. But soon were told to get on the bus by our HR head-Bhavna.

Not a single one of us was ready to go back. Everyone felt that the fun has just begun but evening was getting colder by the minute. Soon we were in the bus and started heading back home.
All in all it was a fabulous trip and its moments will be cherished for many days to come.
A trip down the memory lane will be worth having a laugh and ecstatic hysteria will remain forever.

Let us forget the sorrows of the past.
With determination and unflinching will,
Let us renew our lives, our good habits and our success to give ourselves
and all our near and dear ones a great year ahead.
