After a remarkable celebration of annual day, Diwali and Christmas, everybody was excited to have a great fun on the New Year celebration. But there was a question in everybody’s mind- what is going to happen this time? We were sure that party management team ‘Southern Surmas’ have planned for the New Year celebration and this time also they are going to do something different. The first cracker of excitement was that this time, Vinove family is going to rock the floor in Disc. The Southern Surmas team had scheduled the New Year party on 15th January 2011 at Lava Restro Disc.

Initially, this party was going to be celebrated on New Year Eve but as there cannot be any compromises with professional work, so, it was postponed. But being postponed, it still was one of the most interesting and memorable party at Vinove.

On the event day the Vinove family met together at Lava Restro Disc to rock the floor. As everybody entered the disc, there was truly an awesome feeling as we all were waiting for this moment for the last couple of weeks. Some disco fans, the moment they entered the disc, started rock and roll with the beats of DJ.

Ladies were waiting for their favorite songs to be played by DJ while most of the gentlemen were waiting for the call ‘Bar is open’. Both the parties didn’t have to wait for long as within a few moments, the ladies were on the floor with their favorite song and most of the gents were flocking their favorite place.

For more than two hours, Vinovians showed their dancing skills and rocked the floor. But the Party management team ‘Southern Surmas’ had some other planned activities to make the event more enchanting. So, the DJ had to stop there for a moment. One of the activities of the day was a dance competition among the new joiners of Vinove, but it was not a usual dance competition as the competitors had to dance together and with the beats only. At the moment beats stopped, they had to stop. Similarly, there were other interesting activities which truly added flavor in the dance party.

Once the party management team ‘Southern Surmas’ was done with all their activities, everybody came on the floor and again rocked it. This time there was a continuous dance on the floor for more than 3 hours. When everybody got tired, we decided to have lunch.

So, this was how Vinove family celebrated and enjoyed the New Year party. Southern Surmas, with the help of other staff, had really made this New Year celebration one of the most interesting and memorable day of Vinovians’ life.

The first two weeks after the announcement for the Fun Event were the most difficult days. Undoubtedly, they were filled with excitement to dance and drink hard. Western Yodhas had announced a Dance Party on the July 24th , 2010 as a part of the Fun Event @ Toast in Rajouri. The date had already been postponed for a week and that added fuel to the fire.

Nevertheless, the day came and the Vinovians made way for the venue. Manjeet and Sandy, had already reached the venue in order to check the arrangements. We, all were warmly welcomed by Toast’s management. The moment we entered, for a minute, we entered into a state of trance because of the elegance of the ambiance. The dim lightning that was prominent enough to add on to the look and feel of a lounge. After a couple of moments, we realised that we are not here to rest when the silence was broken by the rocking welcome of our hosts, the Western Yodhas.

“Aa-mil-ga-mate,” the culture at Vinove to celebrate joining of the new members in the Vinove Family called for the double celebration. This time, our creative ‘keedas’ made the “fuchas” mimic Shakti Kapoor, Hema Malini, Amol Palekar, Gabbar, and every character they could think of. To the best of our expectations, everyone performed really well and even to the worst of their extent. Then, the call opened the bar and the floor as well, and everyone just made a bash towards it.”

There was everything… for all our alcoholic and non-alcoholic jawans! Some rushed to the bar to get their drinks, while some were rocking to the tune. Meanwhile, there was an announcement for the paper dance where our five “hanson ke jode” in their full zeest tried their level best, but Sweety and Venkatesh was the last couple to be on the floor. Each and every couple was mesmerised by the music and the proximity they shared. Then, came the real-time teaser where Western Yodhas have had decided the most weirdest titles one can ever think of.

“Vinove Dada” for our Bossy Boss (I am sure, this would be an another title from my side ; Talli Hua/i to Vivek Avasthi and our dearest HR- Bhavna (Zoinx…). There is still more…. One Pack Man to Sanjiv Singh (and I guess… that would surely have been a one-man nomination) and X-ray man to our little Chandresh.”

And, there again, loads of dancing, drinking and enjoying, and why not… when you are with your colleagues with the spirit of knowing each other well. And, I am pretty sure, we went so high in the wake of dancing and masti, that we did not want the music to stop. However, we had to stop and move ahead for lunch, and had a loads of chit-chat at the lunch table as well. We clicked loads of photographs and made the day memorable.

And, this is the most happening thing about this office that we find or more appropriately, create events for one or the other get together. These in-house activities, Fun Event have become an indispensable part of the Vinove family and a big thanks to Western Yodhas, Parvesh Sir, Bhavna, and all the Vinovians for such a rolling and swaying party.

New Year celebration does not always mean to celebrate it by partying in a discotheque and get drunk but there are better ways to celebrate this much-awaited occasion. To prove this, we planned to celebrate new year eve in a new way and decided to spend a complete day by being together, playing sports, enjoying water rides, having good food and a lot more.

Yes, the day finally arrived- it was 1st January, 2010. We reached office in the morning with a smile on our face and… excitement in our heart. We were getting ready to board the bus in excitement. Our bus started heading towards the destined spot- Wet n Wild Resort, situated in Gurgaon, Haryana.

Like the name suggests, the place was ultimate wet… as there were several waterslides to enjoy.

As soon as we boarded the bus, we started screaming in joy, wondering how to keep a hold on our throbbing heart beats. People scattered everywhere in the bus, in an attempt to occupy the seats next to their good friends.

Bus ride has always been a part of fun tale, then how could we missed the chance to sing and play Antakshari. Groups divided and we excited! Most enthusiastic among all were Prashant, Bhavna, Neha, Shweta and Manjeet who were enjoying the moment by not following the rules of the game. That was not all, then started the session of taking pictures.

Soon we reached the destination. We shouted in thrill and rushed towards restaurant where we were welcomed with tea, coffee, sandwiches and soft drinks. After having ourselves filled with energy, we geared up to enjoy sports and play other games like bowling alley, pool, carom, badminton, etc. Shweta and Neha soon rushed towards badminton ground to occupy the space, joined with Umar Qazi. A bunch of boys headed towards another ground to enjoy cricket and basket ball.

Not only this, there were some others like Manish Chauhan, Manish Rawat,  Naveen, Saurav, Sameer, Rahul and Prashant who went to pool area and played pool and bowling there. We had never seen someone attempted to score points by rolling balls along the surface so well other than Durgesh, Rajeev, Neha and Manjeet. On the other side, Chandresh and Qazi were silently playing carom.

We reiterated our childhood memories by enjoying rides in children park, where Ruhi and Bhavna caught riding see-saw and Saurav was found playing on a swing. The happening couples of the day, Mohit with his wife, Ashish and his wife and Sanjeev with his wife, were enjoying weather, sitting under a shady terrace with a fishpond view, gossiping and looking others enjoying here and there. To our surprise, Sanjeev with his little daughter did enjoy water ride too in such chilling weather.

We were now tired of playing games. Soon our hungry stomach stopped hearing anything else but the sound of food. So, without wasting time further we headed towards the restaurant to enjoy lip smacking dishes served with delicious cuisines like jalebies, ice creams and dahi bhalle at lunch, oh.. how can we forget them? After our tongue was savored with great tastes, we thought to relax. But the music coming out of discotheque didn’t let our feet to stop tapping on the beats. On this note, we can not forget our two great dancers, Umar and Rakesh who did not feel exhausted and danced to the last tune.

As we were enjoying the moment, a soft romantic song was intentionally played by the DJ to invite couples on the floor. It was great to watch them holding hands in hands and dancing on the slow music.

We did not want the DJ to stop music and come out of disco but we had to keep a check on time also As soon as we reached the hall to had our snacks with evening tea, we were surprised to know that one more activity was waiting ahead for us to take part in, yes that was Tambola. We were overwhelmed once again!

Tambola is always great since it gives us chance to play, enjoy and win few bucks. Unfortunately, each one of us could not be lucky, right! Vishnu was the luckiest among all, who won the game as Full House winner.

We wanted to capture all the fun we had that day by clicking a group picture of ours. And we did that. Now came the time when we had to board the bus to go back. We can never forget the day, it was joyous, momentous, and much more.
